Urakam Ammathiruvadi Temple

This temple is dedicated to Goddess Shakti (Amman) as the primary deity, with Lord Ganesha and Lord Ayyappan also worshipped within its sacred precincts.

The temple opens early, with Palliyunarthal (waking the deity) at 3:00 AM, followed by Nada Thurakkal (sanctum opening) at 4:00 AM. Abhishekam and Abhisheka Nivedyam commence at 5:00 AM and 5:15 AM, respectively, followed by Usha Pooja at 5:30 AM and the Morning Pooja between 6:00 and 6:30 AM.

Other significant rituals include Morning Siveli, Pantheeradi Pooja, Navakam Nirakkal & Aadall, Uccha Pooja, Uccha Siveli, and evening Deeparadhana and Night Poojas from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM/8:30 PM.

The temple timings are 4:00 AM to 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with the best time to visit being early mornings, during evening aarti, in winter (November to February), or during the festival season.

Major festivals celebrated here include Navaratri Mahotsavam (September-October), Ammathiruvadi Pooram/Makeeryam Purappadu (March-April), and Thrikkarthika (November-December). On Thrikkarthika and monthly Karthika star days, Annadanam (free vegetarian meals) is served.

Special prasadam such as Thirumaduram, Neyppayasam, and Aval with jaggery and banana are distributed to devotees.
