Paramekkavu Bhagavathy Temple

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), the temple also houses shrines for Lord Ganapathy, Lord Veerabhadra, Lord Shiva, Lord Ayyappa, Brahmarakshas, and Naga deities, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings from multiple divine forms.

The temple exemplifies traditional Kerala architecture and stands as a living heritage temple, with its institutional structure shaped in the 18th century under Sakthan Thampuran of the Kingdom of Cochin.

The temple is a focal point during major festivals such as Thrissur Pooram (April–May), Paramekkavu Vela (April), Navarathri (September–October), Makara Chowa (January–February), and Shivarathri (February–March).

Darshan is free for all, and traditional dress code is strictly observed: men must wear a dhoti (mundu) and remove upper garments before entering the sanctum, while women are expected to wear saree, salwar kameez, or other modest traditional attire.

Annadanam (prasada ootu) is served on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and major festival days from 11:30 AM, with traditional payasams and sacred offerings distributed to devotees.
