Situated in Thirukadaiyur, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu, this temple is celebrated for its Dravidian architecture and historical significance, having been originally constructed during the Chola period and later expanded by subsequent dynasties.

The temple’s primary deity is Lord Shiva, worshipped here as Amirthakadeswarar. Other deities enshrined include Goddess Abhirami (Parvati), Kala Samhara Murthy, Vishnu as Amrithanarayana, and Mahalakshmi (Amrithavalli).

Other important rituals include Ayush Homam and Mrityunjaya Homam. The 1008 Sangabishekam, performed every Monday in the Karthikai month (November–December), is a notable event. Poojas are conducted in Tamil and Sanskrit, allowing devotees from various backgrounds to participate.
