This pilgrimage centre is renowned for its Dravidian architecture and is dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, with Goddess Parvati, Budhan (Mercury), and Agora Moorthy also enshrined within its sacred precincts.

Pilgrims and devotees visiting the Ardhanarishvara Temple can experience darshan through multiple entry types: free darshan, special darshan for a nominal fee of ₹10, and seeghra (quick) darshan for ₹50.
