Salkanpur Bijasan Devi Temple

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), the temple also enshrines Lord Bhairav, Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi, Navadurga, Das Mahavidyas, and Sapta Matrikas, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

The temple is perched atop a hill and features classic Nagara (North Indian) architectural style.

Pilgrims can reach the hilltop by climbing over 1,400 steps, taking a ropeway from the base station, or using the approach road for vehicles up to the hilltop parking, followed by a short 650-meter walk.

On-site parking is available both at the foothill and near the summit, with nominal vehicle entry fees. The temple complex offers partial wheelchair accessibility at the upper levels and provides a ropeway for added convenience.

Salkanpur Bijasan Devi Temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with extended hours during Navratri (3:00 AM to 12:30 AM).

The best time to visit is early morning (5–8 AM), during the winter months (November to February), or throughout the vibrant festival season, especially during the annual brahmotsavam.

Major festivals celebrated here include Chaitra Navratri (March–April), Sharad Navratri (September–October), and Vijayadashami (Dussehra) in October.

During Navratri, large-scale community bhandaras (free meals) are organized, especially on Ashtami and Navami, and devotees receive traditional dry sweets, mishri, kumkum, and floral garlands as prasad.

Daily poojas and aartis are performed in Sanskrit and Hindi, including Morning Aarti (5:30–6:00 AM, or 3:30 AM during Navratri), Noon Aarti at 12:00 PM, and Evening Aarti at 7:30 PM (5:00 PM during Navratri). Personal Sankalp Pooja and Havan can also be arranged.

Darshan options include free darshan, special darshan, and VIP darshan, each with clearly specified entry types and fees.

Visitors are expected to follow a modest dress code: men should wear full-length trousers, dhoti, or kurtas, while women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or long skirts with kurtas or blouses.
