Kubereshwar Dham Temple

This modern temple, built by the Vitthaleshwar Seva Samiti under the guidance of Pandit Pradeep Mishra, stands as a living heritage temple and attracts devotees from across India, especially during festival seasons.

The temple’s architectural style follows the classic Nagara (North Indian) tradition, giving it a distinct and elegant appearance. Besides Lord Shiva, the temple also houses shrines for Lord Vishnu and Lord Hanuman, making it a spiritually significant destination for devotees of multiple deities.

Kubereshwar Dham Temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:30 PM, with the grounds accessible until 10:00 PM. The best time to visit is during the early morning hours between 5 and 8 AM, in the winter months from November to February, or during major festivals.

The temple celebrates Rudraksha Mahotsav in February, Shravan Maas (Sawan) in July–August, and Maha Shivratri in March, drawing large gatherings of pilgrims. Darshan at the temple is available through free darshan and VIP darshan, both with no fee, as well as a special darshan option.

The temple conducts several poojas, including the Morning Aarti at 6:30 AM, the Evening Aarti (Pradosh/Sandhya) from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, Rudrabhishek, and Kankar Shankar Puja. Rituals are performed in Hindi and Sanskrit, ensuring that devotees can participate in familiar languages.

Visitors are requested to adhere to a traditional dress code: men should wear dhoti-kurta, kurta-pyjama, or modest trousers and shirts, while women are encouraged to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or traditional suits. Revealing or modern western attire is discouraged inside the sanctum area.

Reaching Kubereshwar Dham is convenient. From Bhopal, it is a 39 km drive southwest along NH-46, while from Indore, it is approximately 80 km northeast on the Indore-Bhopal Highway.

Sehore Railway Station is the nearest railhead, just 12 km away, with local transport options like auto-rickshaws and taxis available. The nearest airports are Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal (45 km) and Devi Ahilya Bai Holkar Airport in Indore (140 km).

Photography and mobile phone usage are strictly prohibited near the main Shivling and ritual spaces, but casual photography is allowed in the outer premises when not crowded.
