Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple

Recognized as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, this ancient temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva and is also home to other deities such as Mamleshwar (Amareshwar), Goddess Annapurna, Panchamukha Ganesha, Mahakaleshwar, Siddhanth, and Gupteshwar.

The temple is also known by local names like Mandhata, Shivapuri, Omkar Mandhata Temple, Amareshwar, Mamleshwar, and Omkareshwar. The Omkareshwar Temple stands as a striking example of Nagara (North Indian) architecture and holds significant state heritage status.

Its historical roots trace back to the Chola period, with the original structure built by the Paramara dynasty in the 11th century and major repairs undertaken by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar dynasty in the 18th century.

Devotees can visit the temple daily from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM, with early mornings (5–8 AM), winter months (November to February), and festival seasons considered the best times for darshan. Both free and special darshan options are available, with special darshan tickets priced at ₹300.
