Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir

This temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Ganesha, with sanctums also devoted to Panchmukhi Hanuman, Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and Lord Krishna, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings from multiple deities.

The temple showcases the distinct Nagara (North Indian) architectural style and stands as a living heritage site managed by a local panchayat trust. Built in the modern period by Pandit Narayan Vyas (Maharishi Guru Maharaj Siddhant Vagesh Pt.

Narayanji Vyas), the temple has become an integral part of Ujjain’s vibrant religious landscape. Its proximity to the famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, just 0.1 km away, further enhances its importance for pilgrims visiting the city.

Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir welcomes devotees for darshan with free entry. The temple is open from 5:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and again from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, offering ample opportunity for worshippers to participate in daily rituals.

The best times to visit include early mornings between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, during evening aarti, in the winter months (November to February), and throughout the festival season. Morning Aarti is performed at 7:00 AM, while the Evening Aarti takes place at 7:30 PM.

Devotees can also arrange for personal sankalpa puja, japam, or Vedic rituals, conducted in Sanskrit or Hindi. The temple observes major festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi (August–September), Sankashti Chaturthi (monthly), and Diwali with Annakut (October–November).

Traditional sweet laddus and modaks are distributed as prasad, especially during these festive occasions.

Reaching the temple is convenient—arrive in Ujjain by train or road, proceed to the Mahakal Temple Area, and head to Gate No. 4 in Jaisinghpura, where Bade Ganeshji Ka Mandir is located directly opposite.
