About

Khajrana Ganesh Temple, also known locally as Shri Khajrana Ganesh Mandir or Khajrana Ganpati Mandir, is a revered pilgrimage centre and ancient temple situated in the Khajrana area of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Ganesha, this temple also houses shrines for other deities including Lord Shiva, Goddess Durga, Rama-Sita, Radha-Krishna, Sai Baba, Shanidev, and Bhairava, making it a spiritually significant destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

The temple traces its origins to the Maratha period and was built by Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of the Holkar Dynasty, adding historical depth to its spiritual ambiance.

Managed by a local trust, Khajrana Ganesh Temple is renowned for its welcoming atmosphere and accessibility, with dedicated parking, wheelchair-friendly entrances, ramps, and resting spots for senior citizens and differently-abled visitors.

Darshan at Khajrana Ganesh Temple is available through multiple entry types: free darshan, special darshan (INR 500), and VIP darshan (INR 1000), catering to the needs of all pilgrims.

The temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with extended hours during major festivals such as Ganesh Chaturthi (Divya Mahotsav), Diwali, and Holi & Rangpanchami.

The best time to visit is early morning (5–8 AM), during winter months (November to February), or in the festival season for a vibrant spiritual experience.

Devotees can participate in special poojas like Mastak Abhishek Puja, Solah Shringar Puja, and Atharvashirsha Path and Abhishek, conducted in Hindi and Sanskrit.

Traditional Modaks, Besan Laddoos, and Motichoor Laddoos are distributed as prasadam after 12:00 PM daily, and the Annakshetra serves free vegetarian meals and prasad to pilgrims and the needy.

Visitors are requested to adhere to the temple’s dress code: traditional or conservative attire for men and modest Indian wear for women. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum, and mobile phones should be silenced near the central deity.

Reaching Khajrana Ganesh Temple is convenient, with Indore Junction (5 km) and Laxmibai Nagar Railway Station (10 km) as the nearest railway stations, and Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport just 9 km away.

Local auto-rickshaws, app-based cabs, and taxis provide easy access from the city center. For accommodation, options like Khajrana Mandir Bhakt Niwas, Super Collection O by OYO Ganeshpuri, and FabHotel Devs Inn are within walking distance.

Nearby attractions include Chappan Dukan, Rajwada Palace, Sarrafa Bazaar, Bada Ganpati Mandir, Pipliyapala Regional Park, and Shri Krishna Pranami Param Dham. For more details, visit the official website or contact the temple directly.
