About

Keezhperumpallam Naga Temple, also known locally as Naganathaswamy Temple, Kethu Sthalam, and Keelaperumpallam Ketu Navagraha Temple, is a revered ancient temple and pilgrimage centre located in Vanagiri, Keezhperumpallam, Nagapattinam district, Tamil Nadu.

This temple stands as a significant destination for devotees of Lord Shiva, who is the primary deity here, along with other deities such as Ketu and Sowndara Nayagi (Parvathi).

Built during the Chola period, with the current structure attributed to the Nayak kings of the 16th century, the temple showcases classic Dravidian architecture and is recognized as a living heritage temple.

Pilgrims visiting the Keezhperumpallam Naga Temple can participate in a range of poojas and rituals, including Ushathkalam at 5:30 a.m., Kalasanthi at 8:00 a.m., Uchikalam at 10:00 a.m., and the special Abhishekam to Ketu at 8:30 a.m.

Evening rituals like Sayarakshai at 6:00 p.m., Irandamkalam at 7:00 p.m., and Ardha Jamam at 10:00 p.m. are also observed.

Devotees can also take part in Ketu Dosha Nivarana Puja and Yamagandam Puja, with rituals conducted in Tamil and Sanskrit.

The best time to visit is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), morning (8 AM–12 PM), or during the evening aarti.

Both free and special darshan entry options are available for visitors.

The temple maintains a traditional dress code: men are required to wear dhotis/veshti with a shirt or trousers (shorts and casual wear are not allowed), and women should wear sarees, churidars, or long skirts with a blouse (tight-fitting clothes or short skirts are not permitted).
