Jugal Kishore Temple Panna

Dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, the temple also enshrines Goddess Shakti (Amman) and Radha, making it a spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

This ancient temple, often referred to as the “Vrindavan of Bundelkhand,” is recognized as a state heritage site and was built by Raja Hindupat Singh, the Bundela King of Panna, during the period 1758–1778.

Jugal Kishore Temple is especially vibrant during major festivals such as Janmashtami (August–September), Radhashtami (September), Holi/Dolotsav (February–March), and Jhulan Leela/Janotsav, which spans from July to November.

The temple is open from 5:00 AM to 10:30 PM in summer and 5:30 AM to 10:00 PM in winter, with a midday closure from 12:00 PM to 2:45 PM. The best time to visit is during the evening aarti or in the winter months (November to February). Darshan at Jugal Kishore Temple is free for all visitors.

A traditional dress code is observed: men are expected to wear full-length trousers, dhoti, or clean shirts/kurta, while women should opt for saree, salwar kameez, or other modest attire covering shoulders and legs.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the sanctum and main prayer halls, though exterior photos may be allowed in designated areas. Reaching the temple is convenient from Panna town via NH 39, with local auto-rickshaws available from the bus stand to Kishor Ganj.
