Jagannath Temple Puri

Recognized for its magnificent Kalinga architecture and spiritual significance, the temple is also known locally as Purushottama Kshetra, Nilachala, Nilagiri, Srikhetra, and Bada Deula.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu and houses sanctums for Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra, Sudarshana Chakra, Goddess Vimala, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Narasimha, Lord Rama, Surya, Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, Lord Vamana, and Lord Shiva, making it a vibrant centre for devotees seeking darshan of multiple deities.

Photography and carrying electronic gadgets inside the temple premises are strictly prohibited, with official deposit counters available for safekeeping.

The best time to visit Jagannath Temple Puri is during winter (November to February), early mornings, evening aarti, weekdays for less crowd, or during the vibrant festival season.
