Chakra Tirtha Temple

This temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu and features sanctums for several other deities, including Chakra Nrusingha, Abhaya Nrusingha, Laxmi Nrusingha, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, Subhadra, and Varuna Deva.

Its distinctive Kalinga architectural style and living heritage status make it a significant spiritual destination for devotees and visitors seeking darshan and a tranquil seaside atmosphere.

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and again from 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM, offering ample opportunity for devotees to participate in poojas and seek blessings.

General Darshan and Morning Aarti are conducted from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while Evening Darshan and Sandhya Aarti take place between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Special Archana or personal Sankalpa services are also available.

All regular darshan and aarti services are free of charge, and rituals are performed in Sanskrit. The temple distributes simple traditional prasadam, such as tulsi water, dry sweets, and fruits, after daily aartis. Community food distribution is organized during major festivals.

Chakra Tirtha Temple celebrates important festivals such as Nrusingha Chaturdashi (Nrusingha Janma) in April–May, Kartika Purnima with special rituals in October–November, and Pana Sankranti (Vishuva Sankranti) in April.

The best time to visit is during winter (November to February) or early morning hours (5–8 AM) for a serene experience.

Visitors are required to follow a traditional dress code: men should wear full-length trousers, dhotis, and shirts, avoiding shorts and sleeveless clothing, while women are expected to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or long modest skirts with covered shoulders. Reaching the temple is convenient.

Arrive in Puri city by road or rail, then take an auto-rickshaw or taxi from the city center or Grand Road towards Chakra Tirtha Road in Badasirei. The shrine is located near Chakratirtha Beach, with local markers guiding the way.

Puri Railway Station is just 3 km away, and Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar is about 60 km from the temple. Accommodation options range from upscale hotels like Mayfair Heritage and Sterling Puri to state-run Panthanivas and budget guest houses along Chakra Tirtha Road.

Limited roadside parking is available, and visitors should note that photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the inner temple premises.
