Hanuman Tekri Temple Chhindwara

Situated atop Dharam Tekri near Shivam Sundaram Colony, Ganesh Colony, and Khajri Road, this temple is easily recognizable from afar thanks to its towering 101-foot statue of Lord Hanuman, which serves as a spiritual beacon for devotees approaching from the Nagpur-Chhindwara Highway.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Hanuman, with sanctums also honoring Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Nandi, Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman, Radha, Krishna, and Goddess Durga.

Poojas at the temple include Morning Aarti from 5:30 AM to 6:00 AM, Evening/Sandhya Aarti from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Nitya Aarti, Bhog, and the Chola offering. Rituals are conducted in Hindi and Sanskrit.

Major festivals celebrated here include Hanuman Jayanti and Ram Navami in March–April, the Shravan month in July–August, and weekly festivals on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

These occasions often feature free community food (bhandara/langar), and prasadam such as boondi, laddus, mishri, and dried fruits is distributed after aarti.

Visitors are advised to follow the temple’s dress code: men should wear traditional or modest formal attire with full-length pants, while women are expected to wear sarees, salwar kameez, or kurtis that fully cover shoulders and legs.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum but allowed in the outer gardens and park areas. Reaching Hanuman Tekri Temple is convenient.

From Chhindwara city center or Chhindwara Junction railway station (16 km away), take Nagpur Road (NH 47) and proceed 15–18 km toward Simariya village. The 101-foot Hanuman statue is visible from the highway, and local autos, jeeps, and taxis are readily available.
