About

Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Temple, also known locally as Yedeyuru Siddalingeshwara Swamy Temple or Tontada Siddalingeshwara Temple, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated in the village of Yediyur, Tumakuru district, Karnataka.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, with Veerabhadra Swamy also worshipped here, this ancient temple is renowned for its Dravidian architecture and spiritual significance among devotees across Karnataka and beyond.

The temple is open daily from 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM, allowing ample time for devotees to participate in darshan and various poojas. Free darshan is available for all visitors, making it accessible to pilgrims from all walks of life.

The best time to visit is during the morning hours between 8 AM and 12 PM, as well as during the vibrant festival season and the annual brahmotsavam, when the temple comes alive with special rituals and celebrations.

A wide range of poojas and sevas are conducted at Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Temple, with offerings such as Rudrabhisheka, Yekadasha Rudrabhisheka, Kshiraabhisheka, Panchamruthabhisheka, Rathotsava, Belli Ratha (Silver Chariot), Rajopachara, Ashtothara, Sahasranama, Dronapushpa/Tumbe Hoovina Puje, Bhasmmarchane/TilAksha Pooje, and Mahamangalarati.

Poojas are performed in Kannada, and devotees can choose from simple offerings starting at INR 10 to elaborate rituals like Yekadasha Rudrabhisheka on Amavasya. Special attention is given to Amavasya days, with unique poojas and Kumbhabhisheka rituals.

The temple celebrates several important festivals, including the Jathra (Annual Car Festival) in March-April, Maha Shivaratri in February-March, Shravana Masa in July-August, Laksha Deepotsava in November-December, and Amavasya Kumbhabhisheka every new moon day.

During these times, the temple attracts large gatherings of devotees seeking blessings and participating in the festivities. Reaching Yediyur Siddhalingeshwara Temple is convenient. From Bengaluru, it is about 95 km via NH48/NH75.
