Trayambakeshwar Temple (Tera Manzil)

This striking structure, built in the Nagara (North Indian) architectural style, stands out with its thirteen floors and offers a unique spiritual experience overlooking the holy Ganga river.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, the temple also houses shrines for other revered deities such as Goddess Durga, Lord Vishnu, Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesha, and Lord Rama.

As a modern yet spiritually significant site, Trayambakeshwar Temple draws devotees and visitors seeking darshan and blessings from multiple deities in one sacred space. The temple is open for darshan from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with free entry for all visitors.

Daily aartis are performed, and the Evening Ganga Aarti, held around sunset, is a particularly serene and uplifting experience. Rituals and poojas are conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi, allowing devotees from various backgrounds to participate comfortably.

The temple becomes especially vibrant during major festivals such as Maha Shivratri (February–March) and the Shravan (Sawan) month (July–August), when special bhandars and prasadam distribution are organized.

On regular days, simple prasadam like sugar candies, mishri, and dry fruits is distributed informally.

Visitors are advised to adhere to the temple's dress code: men should wear modest, traditional, or semi-formal attire, avoiding shorts and sleeveless shirts, while women are encouraged to wear salwar kameez, long skirts, or jeans with covered shoulders and knees.

Revealing clothes are discouraged for both genders. To reach Trayambakeshwar Temple, arrive in Rishikesh by bus, taxi, or train. From the main bus stand or railway station, take an auto-rickshaw, tempo, or taxi to the Lakshman Jhula area, approximately 6–7 km away.

After reaching the eastern riverbank, walk to the entrance at Shiv Chowk near Lakshman Jhula. The nearest railway stations are Rishikesh (6 km) and Haridwar Junction (25 km), while Jolly Grant Airport in Dehradun is about 22 km away.

There is no dedicated parking at the temple gate; visitors can use nearby municipal or market parking lots and walk, while two-wheelers can get closer. Note that the temple is not wheelchair accessible, as all 13 floors are accessible only via stairs.

Photography is permitted on the upper levels, stairwells, and rooftop terrace, but is prohibited inside the primary ground-floor sanctum and near inner altars.
