About

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple Antarvedi is an ancient riverbank temple and renowned pilgrimage centre located in Antarvedi, Eluru district, Andhra Pradesh.

Revered as "Dakshina Kashi" and also known as the Island Temple or Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Devasthanam, this temple stands as a significant spiritual destination for devotees of Lord Vishnu and several other deities.

The temple’s Dravidian architectural style reflects its rich heritage, with origins tracing back to the Pallava period. It was built by the Pallava kings and Reddy kings of Peddapuram, and later reconstructed in 1823 by Kopanati Krishnamma of the Agni Kula Kshatriya lineage.

The temple enshrines Lord Vishnu as the primary deity, with sanctums dedicated to Lakshmi Devi, Devi Rajyalakshmi, Bhagwan Venkateshwara, Bhoodevi, Ranganadha Swamy, Santhana Gopala Swamy, Keshava Swamy, Chaturbhuja Anjaneya, Acharyas, Alwars, Neelakanteshwara, Parvati, Subramanya, Vigneshwara, Durga Devi, and Kodanda Rama Swamy.

The temple is a vibrant centre for various poojas and rituals, with Abhishekam performed from 4:00 AM to 5:00 AM and Sri Sudarshana Homam from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit and Telugu, catering to the spiritual needs of pilgrims from diverse backgrounds.

Darshan at Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple is available in different formats: free darshan, seeghra darshan for INR 10, and special darshan for INR 25. The temple is open for devotees from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM.

Early mornings, winter months (November to February), and the festival season are considered the best times to visit.

Major festivals celebrated here include Kalyanotsavam & Rath Yatra in January-February, Narasimha Jayanti in May, Dhanurmasam Sevas from mid-December to mid-January, and Nijaroopa Darshanam in November.

Devotees are requested to wear traditional Indian attire, ensuring modesty for both men and women. The temple provides free daily meals (Annadanam) and traditional South Indian vegetarian prasadam to all visitors.

Ample public parking and wheelchair-accessible entrances make the temple accessible to all. Photography is not permitted inside the main temple area.
