About

Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple Kothapeta, also known locally as Vadapalli Venkateswara Swamy Temple, Kona Seema Tirupati, and Chinna Tirupati, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated on the banks of a river in Vadapalli, Atreyapuram Mandal, East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh.

This ancient temple, built in the Dravidian architectural style, is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara as the primary deity, with Namala Swamy and Anjaneya Swamy also worshipped within the complex. The temple is a popular destination for devotees seeking darshan and spiritual solace.

It offers multiple types of darshan, including free darshan, special darshan, and seeghra darshan, catering to the needs of various pilgrims.

The temple timings are from 04:30 AM to 01:00 PM and 04:00 PM to 08:30 PM, making early mornings, especially between 5 and 8 AM, an ideal time for peaceful visits.

The winter months from November to February and the vibrant festival season are considered the best times to experience the temple’s spiritual atmosphere.

A variety of poojas are performed daily in both Telugu and Sanskrit, such as GoPuja at 7:00 AM, Nithya Homam at 7:30 AM, Bala Bogam at 8:00 AM, Raja Bhogam at 1:00 PM, and Sayam Bhogam at 8:00 PM.

Special rituals like Archana and Kumkumarchana are available for devotees, as well as significant ceremonies like Moola Virat Abhishekam and Sri Venkateswara Swami Kalyanam. Rituals for life events, including Namakaranam, Annaprasana, and Aksharabyasam, are also conducted.

Tuesdays feature the Anjaneya Swamy Abhishekam-Aaku Puja. The temple celebrates several annual festivals, such as Kalyanotsavam, Brahmotsavam, Theerdam Festival (March or April), Vaikunta Ekadasi (December-January), Sri Rama Navami, and Ugadi (March-April).

Prasadam offerings include special laddus and sweets, and there is an annadanam tradition, though visitors are advised to confirm the daily schedule on-site.

Visitors are required to follow a traditional dress code: men should wear dhoti or kurta-pyjama, and women are expected to wear saree or churidar with dupatta. Photography is not permitted inside the main sanctum sanctorum.

Reaching the temple is convenient, with Rajahmundry Railway Station (35 km) and Dwarapudi Railway Station (22 km) being the nearest railheads. Rajahmundry Airport is 55 km away, and Vijayawada International Airport is 155 km from the temple.

From Rajahmundry, pilgrims can take a bus or taxi to Kothapeta/Vadapalli via the Ravulapalem highway, and then a local auto-rickshaw or bus to Vadapalli village. The temple is well-connected by road and is often included in circuits of East and West Godavari temples.

For accommodation, the temple Devasthanam provides basic facilities, while budget hotels and guest houses are available in Kothapeta and Ravulapalem (5–10 km away). Premium hotels can be found in Rajahmundry.

General parking is available near the temple, though wheelchair accessibility may be limited. Nearby attractions include Mandapalli Shaneswara Alayam (8 km), Draksharama Sri Bheemeswara Swamy Temple (30 km), Appanapalli Balaji Swamy Temple (20 km), and Kadiyam Nurseries (25 km).
