Saptashrungi Devi Temple

The temple is renowned for its ancient rock-cut architecture and holds a significant place as a living heritage site, with its origins linked to a swayambhu (self-manifested) idol and later structural contributions from Maratha-era noble families and local chieftains.

The temple is currently managed by the Shree Saptashrungi Nivasini Devi Trust. The temple complex also houses shrines for Lord Ganesha, Lord Hanuman, local protectors, and faces the sacred Markandeya Hill, which is just 2 km away.

Saptashrungi Devi Temple is open daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with early mornings (5–8 AM), winter months (November to February), and festival seasons considered the best times to visit for a peaceful darshan experience. Pilgrims can choose between free darshan and VIP darshan (INR 100).

Various poojas are performed in Marathi, Sanskrit, Hindi, and English, including Abhishek Puja/Panchamrit Abhishek (INR 251/500), Dudh Abhishek (INR 151/300), Kumkumarchana Puja (INR 200/350), Ooti Puja (INR 351/500), Naivedhyam (INR 200/500), and the Navchandi Yagna/Maha Abhishek (INR 2100/5000).

The temple distributes dry and sweet prasad after aarti, and free annadanam (Mahaprasad/Bhandara) is served during major festivals and Poornima. Nominal meals are available on routine days.

Major festivals celebrated here include Chaitrotsav (March–April), Sharad Navratri (September–October), Dussehra, Kojagiri Purnima, and Gudi Padwa.

The temple enforces a traditional dress code: men are required to wear dhoti-kurta, kurta-pajama, or formal trousers with a clean shirt, while women should wear sarees, salwar kameez, or chudidhar with a dupatta. Shorts, sleeveless tops, and jeans are not permitted.

Reaching Saptashrungi Devi Temple is convenient from Nashik city, which is well connected by train, bus, and road from Mumbai and Pune. From Nashik, take NH-848 or State Highway 17 via Dindori to Vani, then proceed to Nanduri village at the base of the hills.

The temple is accessible by a 10 km ghat road, with parking available at the top. Devotees can climb 510 steps or use the funicular ropeway to reach the temple entrance.

The nearest railway stations are Nashik Road (70 km) and Manmad Junction (95 km), while Nashik International Airport (Ozar) is 53 km away.
