Raghunath Temple Odagaon

This ancient temple, built in the distinctive Kalinga architectural style, is dedicated to Lord Rama, with Sita and Lakshmana also worshipped as principal deities. The temple serves as a spiritual hub for devotees seeking darshan, traditional poojas, and a tranquil setting for prayer.

The temple opens its doors for darshan from 6:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, making early morning and evening aarti times especially popular among visitors.

Morning Darshan & Alati begins at 6:00 AM, followed by rituals such as Mailum and Abhada/Puja, and the Madhyahna Dhupa & Aarti at 1:00 PM. The Sandhya Dhupa & Aarti takes place in the evening, providing a serene atmosphere for worship.

Poojas are conducted in Odia and Sanskrit, preserving the temple’s traditional roots.

Entry for darshan is free, and the temple encourages devotees to follow a modest dress code: men are expected to wear dhoti-kurta, kurta-pyjama, or clean casual trousers with a modest shirt, while women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or conservative kurtis.

Revealing or tight-fitting clothes are discouraged to maintain the sanctity of the premises.

Raghunath Temple Odagaon is particularly vibrant during festivals such as Rama Navami (March–April), Vivaha Panchami (November–December), and Jhulan Yatra/Dola Purnima (February–March), when the temple comes alive with special rituals and large-scale annadanam.

Traditional Odia temple bhog is offered daily, and free meals are provided during major festivals, subject to donor sponsorships. Reaching the temple is convenient from Bhubaneswar, which is well-connected by air, rail, and road.

From Bhubaneswar, travelers can take NH-57 via Khurda toward Nayagarh town and then proceed to Odagaon. Local buses, auto-rickshaws, and cabs are available from Nayagarh to Odagaon. The temple is centrally located on the main road, easily accessible from the Odagaon Bus Stand.
