About

Ladu Baba Temple Nayagarh, also locally known as Shree Baba Ladukeswar Temple or Ladubaba Temple, is a revered ancient temple and pilgrimage centre situated in Sarankul, Nayagarh district, Odisha.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, the temple also houses the unique Hari-Hara form of Lord Vishnu, making it a spiritual destination for devotees seeking blessings from both deities. The temple’s tranquil village setting and spiritual ambiance attract pilgrims and visitors throughout the year.

The temple welcomes devotees daily with timings from 5:30 AM to 12:30/1:30 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, allowing ample opportunity for darshan and participation in rituals. Entry for darshan is free, making it accessible to all.

Traditional poojas such as Jalabhishek, Morning Aarti, and Evening Aarti are performed in both Sanskrit and Odia, enriching the devotional experience for visitors.

The best time to visit Ladu Baba Temple is during winter months (November to February), in the early morning hours, or during the vibrant festival season. Festivals are a major highlight at this temple.

Mahashivaratri (Jagar), celebrated in February–March, draws large crowds, while Rukuna Rath Yatra (Ashokastami) in March–April and Sawan Somvars in July–August are also observed with devotion and community participation.

During these occasions, traditional prasad is distributed at temple counters, and community-sponsored free food (annadanam) is offered to devotees.

Visitors are expected to follow a modest dress code: men should wear traditional Indian attire like dhoti-kurta or clean trousers and shirt, while women are encouraged to wear saree, salwar kameez, or kurti-legging, with clothing that covers shoulders and legs.

Shorts, sleeveless shirts, and western beachwear are discouraged to maintain the sanctity of the temple. Reaching Ladu Baba Temple is convenient.

Pilgrims can arrive at Nayagarh Town via state highways or buses from Bhubaneswar or Cuttack, then take the Nayagarh-Odagaon Road south for 13–15 km to Sarankul.

The nearest railway stations are Nayagarh Town (19 km) and Khurda Road Junction (70 km), while Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar is about 99 km away.

Basic guesthouses and panthasalas are available in Sarankul, with more accommodation options like Hotel Prince and Hotel Darshan Inn in Nayagarh town. Parking is available near the temple, including wheelchair-accessible spaces, though assistance may be needed for inner temple steps.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main temple hall and sanctum, but casual photos may be allowed in outer courtyards. For further information, devotees can contact the temple at +919438004276.

Nearby attractions include Maa Dakshinakali Temple, Kuanria Dam & Deer Park, Shree Shree Raghunath Jew Temple, Khandapara Palace & Temple, and Satkosia Gorge & Baramul Nature Camp, making Sarankul a rewarding destination for both spiritual seekers and travelers.
