This ancient temple stands out for its Bengali (Chala) architectural style, adorned with intricate terracotta work that can be appreciated from the exterior. Recognized as an ASI protected monument, it holds a special place in the region’s cultural and religious landscape.

The temple’s historical origins are attributed either to Maharani Brajakishari Devi, Queen of Bardhaman, or the Bardhaman Raj estate, though the exact period of construction remains unknown or disputed.

Radha Binod Temple Joydev Kenduli is open daily for devotees, with darshan timings from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Entry for darshan is free, allowing pilgrims to participate in the spiritual atmosphere without any charge.

The temple conducts daily poojas such as Mangala Aarti, Bhoga offerings, and Sandhya Aarti, performed in Bengali and Sanskrit, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional worship practices. The temple is especially vibrant during festivals.

The Joydev Kenduli Mela, held during Makar Sankranti from January 14–16, draws large crowds and features large-scale free food distribution (annadanam). Other major festivals celebrated here include Jhulan Yatra and Janmashtami in July–August, as well as Rash Purnima in November.

During regular days, prasadam comprising sweets, sugar, fruits, or puffed rice is distributed after daily bhoga.

Visitors are advised to follow the temple’s dress code: men should wear traditional or modest casual attire such as dhoti-kurta or full-length trousers, while women are expected to wear saree or salwar kameez, with clothing that covers shoulders and legs.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum, but are generally allowed in the outer premises and for the temple’s terracotta architecture, subject to local guidance.

The temple complex provides open space and a designated wheelchair accessible parking lot near the approach, though parking can be congested during peak visits or the annual mela. The outer complex is relatively accessible for wheelchair users, but assistance may be needed to cross inner thresholds.
