About

Nidhivan Temple, also known locally as Nidhivan, Raas Sthali, Madhuvan, and Tulsi Forest, is a revered pilgrimage centre nestled in the heart of Vrindavan, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh.

This ancient temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Krishna, with Radha also venerated within its sacred precincts. Nidhivan Temple holds a special place among devotees seeking darshan and spiritual solace in the holy town of Vrindavan.

Located near Radha Rani temple, Gotam Nagar/Loi Bazaar, along Nidhivan Road, the temple is easily accessible from the city center. Pilgrims can reach Vrindavan by arriving at Mathura Junction (MTJ), just 15 km away, or Vrindavan Station (BDB), a mere 2 km from the temple.

From these stations, auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws are readily available to transport visitors to Nidhivan, which is also conveniently close to the renowned Banke Bihari Mandir.

For those traveling by air, Agra Airport (AGR) is 80 km away, while the Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) in Delhi is about 160 km from Vrindavan. Nidhivan Temple welcomes devotees with free darshan during its specified timings.

In summer, the temple is open from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, while in winter, the timings shift to 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The temple remains closed in the afternoon, typically from 12:00/1:00 PM to 3:30/4:30 PM.

The best time to visit is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM) or in the winter months from November to February, when the atmosphere is serene and pleasant.

Devotees can participate in traditional poojas such as the Morning Aarti at 5:00 AM, Evening Aarti at 4:30 PM, and the special Rang Mahal Seva in the evening, all conducted in Hindi.

The temple observes major festivals including Radhashtami, Krishna Janmashtami (August–September), and Holi (March), drawing pilgrims from across the country. Visitors are advised to wear modest, traditional attire covering shoulders and knees, as recommended for both men and women.

Photography is generally allowed in the main temple area, but there are strict restrictions inside the Nidhivan forest, especially near Rang Mahal—always seek permission from caretakers before taking photos.

While there is no formal prasadam or annadanam center inside the temple, devotees can receive blessings from priests and enjoy sweets like Mathura peda from vendors outside.

Accommodation options abound within 1-3 km of the temple, including Hotel Shri Radha Nikunj, ISKCON Guest House, and various ashrams near Banke Bihari.

Nidhivan Temple is surrounded by several notable attractions such as Shri Banke Bihari Mandir, Radha Raman Temple, Prem Mandir, ISKCON Temple, and the picturesque Yamuna Ghat (Keshi Ghat), making it an essential stop for anyone visiting Vrindavan.

Please note that there is no direct parking at the temple; visitors should use nearby commercial parking lots and continue on foot or by rickshaw, as the approach paths are narrow and may not be suitable for wheelchair users.
