Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple, also known locally as Gopishwar Mahadev or Gopeshwar Mahadev Mandir, is a revered ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated near Vamshi Vat (Vanshivat) in the Goda Vihar area along Parikrama Marg, Vrindavan, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh.

This riverbank temple is a significant pilgrimage centre, drawing devotees seeking darshan and spiritual solace in the sacred city of Vrindavan. The temple enshrines Lord Shiva as the primary deity, with Parvati (Annapurna) also worshipped here.

The architecture of Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple reflects a mixed and renovated style, with the present structure having been renovated by the Maharajas of Gwalior.

While the historical period of the temple remains unknown or disputed, it stands today as a living heritage temple, continuing to serve the spiritual needs of countless devotees.

Darshan at Gopeshwar Mahadev Mandir is accessible through free entry, allowing pilgrims to experience the divine atmosphere without barriers.

The temple timings vary seasonally: in summer, it is open from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 9:30 PM; in winter, from 5:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 3:30 PM to 9:00 PM.

The best time to visit is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), evening aarti, winter months (November to February), and the festival season.

Several poojas are performed daily, including the Mangala Aarti at 3:30 AM (summer), Evening Aarti (Gopi Shringar) from 5 PM onwards, and Jala Abhishek, which is conducted all day on Mondays. All rituals and poojas are conducted in Hindi.

Special prasadam is offered during festivals such as Maha Shivaratri, Shravan Month, Kartik Month, and Annakut, with regular prasadam available for devotees.

Visitors are advised to follow the traditional dress code: men should wear kurta-pyjama or dhoti, and women are expected to dress modestly in saree or salwar suit.

Photography is generally allowed inside the temple, though restrictions may apply near the main sanctum; it is best to ask before taking photos.

Reaching Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple is convenient from Mathura Junction (12–14 km) by auto-rickshaw or taxi to Vrindavan, followed by an e-rickshaw to Vanshivat, and a short walk through narrow lanes near the Yamuna River.

The nearest railway stations are Mathura Junction, Vrindavan Station, and Agra Cantt. For air travel, Kheria Airport (Agra) is 75 km away, while Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi) is 150 km from Vrindavan.

There is no dedicated parking at the temple; visitors should use community parking at the Vrindavan entrance and proceed by e-rickshaw and on foot.
