About

Lakshman Tila Temple, also known locally as Lakshman Tila or Lete Hanuman Ji Temple, is a revered ancient temple located on the banks of the Gomti River in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

This pilgrimage centre is situated in the Lakshman Tila / Daliganj / Chowk area, making it easily accessible for devotees and visitors seeking spiritual solace in the heart of the city.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Hanuman, with sanctums also devoted to Lord Lakshman and Lord Rama, attracting devotees from across the region. The temple is recognized as a living heritage temple, reflecting its enduring significance in the cultural and religious landscape of Lucknow.

Although the exact historical period of the temple remains unknown or disputed, its prominence as a riverbank temple and pilgrimage centre is well established.

The best time to visit Lakshman Tila Temple is during the winter months from November to February, or during the serene hours of early morning (5–8 AM) and the vibrant evening aarti time, when the temple atmosphere is especially spiritual.

Devotees can participate in various poojas and rituals at the temple. Mangala Aarti and Evening Aarti are performed daily, while Abhishekam and Hanuman Chalisa recitation, especially on Tuesdays, offer opportunities for deeper devotion.

Poojas are conducted in Hindi and Sanskrit, catering to a wide range of worshippers. Entry for darshan is free, making it accessible for all visitors.

During major festivals such as Bada Mangal (May-June), Navaratri (September-October), Ram Navami (March-April), and Diwali (October-November), the temple becomes a vibrant hub of festivities.

On Bada Mangal, devotees are served bhandara (free food), and during Navaratri, phalahar prasad is distributed. Reaching Lakshman Tila Temple is convenient from various parts of Lucknow.

From Lucknow Charbagh Railway Station (about 7 km away), visitors can take a taxi or auto via Kaiserbagh and cross Pakka Pul (Curzon Bridge) to reach the temple on the left bank of the river.

The Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport is approximately 17 km away, with taxis and metro options available. The nearest railway stations include Daliganj (2 km), Lucknow Junction (6 km), and Lucknow Charbagh (7 km).

For those using the metro, the Red Line to IT College Metro Station followed by a short auto-rickshaw ride provides easy access.

Accommodation options are plentiful, ranging from budget and mid-range hotels in Hazratganj and Kaiserbagh (3–5 km away), guest houses in Chowk and Daliganj, to luxury hotels in Gomti Nagar (8–10 km).
