Jatashankar Temple Pachmarhi

This ancient pilgrimage centre is set amidst the lush Satpura ranges, offering devotees a tranquil and spiritual experience. The temple is also associated with the worship of Goddess Parvati, Lord Hanuman, and Nag Devta, making it a significant site for devotees of multiple deities.

The temple’s architecture is characterized by its natural cave formation, earning it the local title of the “Sacred cave of the Satpuras.” Visitors descend approximately 150–188 steps into a ravine to reach the sanctum, surrounded by striking rock formations and serene natural beauty.

From Pachmarhi town, visitors can take an auto-rickshaw, local Gypsy, or walk 1.5–2 km to Jatashankar Road, followed by a descent into the ravine. Adequate open parking is available near the entry, though the temple is not wheelchair accessible due to the steps and terrain.

Devotees are encouraged to wear traditional or modest attire, with specific dress codes for men and women. Photography is permitted in the outer areas and scenic approaches, while discretion is advised near the inner sanctum.
