Bahula Devi Temple (Shakti Peeth)

This ancient pilgrimage centre draws devotees seeking blessings from Goddess Shakti, the temple’s presiding deity, and is also home to shrines for Bhiruk Bhairava (Lord Shiva), Lord Ganesha, and Lord Kartikeya.

The temple’s architecture follows the traditional Bengali (Chala) style, adding to its spiritual and cultural significance. Bahula Devi Temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering ample opportunity for darshan and participation in the Nitya Puja & Daily Darshan rituals.

All visitors are welcome for free darshan, with poojas conducted in Bengali and Hindi. The best time to visit is during winter (November to February), the vibrant festival season, or early mornings between 5 and 8 AM, when the temple atmosphere is especially serene.

From Kolkata, one can drive via NH 19 or the Krishnanagar–Debagram route to Katwa, then proceed northwest toward Ketugram via Pachandi. From Katwa Junction, local buses head toward Ketugram or Nirol, with a stop at Ketugram bus stand.

The temple is about 1.2 km from the bus stop and can be reached by auto-rickshaw or on foot. The nearest railway stations are Pachandi (4 km), Katwa Junction (14 km), and Ahmadpur Junction (55 km).
