Sarbamangala Temple Bardhaman

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti, also known locally as Sarbamangala Mata Thakurani or Sarvamangala, the temple holds immense spiritual significance as the Kuladevi of the Bardhaman Raj.

The temple complex also houses several Shiva shrines, including those dedicated to Chandreswara, Indreswara, Kamaleswar, and other Shiva lingams, making it a unique confluence of Shakta and Shaiva traditions.

Constructed in the Bengali (Chala) architectural style, the temple stands as a state heritage site and was built by Maharaja Kirtichand of Bardhaman Raj during the modern period.

Entry for darshan is free, and devotees can participate in daily puja and aarti, especially during the peak ritual hour from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Personal archana or sankalpa services are available at ₹20 and ₹100, conducted in Sanskrit and Bengali.

For those wishing to partake in prasadam, daily afternoon cooked bhog is distributed to devotees; coupons (typically ₹50–₹60 per plate) are available until 10:30 AM.

Visitors are expected to adhere to a traditional dress code: men should wear dhoti-kurta or full-length trousers/jeans with a shirt or kurta, while women are advised to dress in sarees, salwar kameez, or other modest ethnic wear.

Photography is permitted only in the outer courtyards and gardens, while it is strictly restricted inside the inner sanctum. Reaching Sarbamangala Temple is convenient.
