About

Arulmigu Soundararajaperumal Temple, also known locally as Soundararajaperumal Temple or Thadikombu Perumal Temple, is a revered ancient temple and pilgrimage centre situated in Thadikombu, Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, the temple also houses shrines for deities such as Lakshmi Narayana, Rathi-Manmatha, Swarna Akarshana Bhairava, Andal, Dhanvanthari, Lord Hayagriva, and Karthaveeriarjuna.

The temple is renowned for its striking Dravidian architecture, reflecting the grandeur of the Vijayanagara period, and was built by Achyuta Deva Raya. The temple welcomes devotees every day from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Special poojas such as Theipirai Ashtami Pooja for Swarna Akarshana Bhairavar (INR 500), Ashtami Darshan (INR 100), Weekly Special Thursday Turmeric Abishek, New Moon Day (Amavasya) Abishek, Tiruvonam Star Day Special Pooja, and Karthaveeriarjuna Pooja are also performed, offering devotees varied opportunities for worship.

The temple is a vibrant centre during festivals, with major celebrations including the Chitirai Festival in April–May, the Aadi Festival in July–August, and Vaikunta Ekadashi. During these festivals, prasadam such as Tulsi garlands and turmeric is distributed, and food is served to devotees.
