Talakona Siddheswara Swami Temple

Also known locally as Siddheswara Swamy Temple or Talakona Siddheswara Swamy Temple, this sacred pilgrimage centre is renowned for its tranquil setting amid lush forests and proximity to the picturesque Talakona Waterfalls, just 0.5 km away.

The temple is constructed in traditional Dravidian architectural style, reflecting the spiritual heritage of South India. Apart from the primary deity, Lord Shiva, devotees can also offer prayers to Lord Murugan, Lord Ganesha, and the Navagraha within the temple complex.

The temple is especially significant for those seeking to perform Pitru Tharpanam (ancestral rites), which is conducted in the mornings, particularly on Amavasya days. Other important poojas include Abhishekam and Archana, with Archana available for a nominal fee of INR 5.

All rituals and poojas are performed in Telugu, maintaining the regional spiritual traditions. Talakona Siddheswara Swami Temple welcomes devotees daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

The best time to visit is during the morning hours between 8 AM and 12 PM, in the winter months from November to February, or during the festival season.

To reach the temple, start from Tirupati and hire a taxi or take a bus toward Bakarapeta, travel via Chandragiri toward Yerravaripalem or Bakarapeta, then follow signs to Talakona Waterfalls.

Parking is available near the forest checkpoint, from where a moderate 20-minute walk through the forest leads to the temple. The temple is not wheelchair accessible due to the forest trail.

The nearest railway stations are Tirupati Main Railway Station (60 km) and Renigunta Junction (75 km), while Tirupati Airport at Renigunta is about 80 km away.
