Sri Siva Temple Bezwada Ghats

This revered temple, built in the Dravidian architectural style and believed to have origins tracing back to the Chalukya or Kakatiya dynasties, is recognized as a state heritage site and forms part of the Indrakeeladri Temple Complex.

The primary deity worshipped here is Lord Shiva, accompanied by shrines for Goddess Parvati, Ganesha, Subrahmanya, and Nandi. The temple’s riverbank setting and its spiritual ambiance make it a sought-after destination for devotees seeking darshan and participation in sacred rituals.

The temple offers both free darshan and a special darshan option for a nominal fee of ₹20. Poojas and sevas at Sri Siva Temple Bezwada Ghats are conducted in Telugu and Sanskrit. Devotees can participate in Abhishekam, available at ₹50 and ₹100, as well as Sahasranama Archana.

Ksheerabhishekam/Panchamrutabhishekam is performed on Mondays, Dakshina Murthy Puja on Thursdays, and Ekantha Seva/Pavalimpu Seva takes place at 9:00 PM. The temple is open for darshan from 5:30 AM to 12:30 PM and again from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

Visitors are expected to adhere to a traditional dress code: men should wear Pancha, Dhoti, or Kurta-Pyjama, while women are required to wear Saree, Half-saree, or Chudidhar with Dupatta, ensuring modesty by covering shoulders and knees.

To reach the temple, proceed from Vijayawada city center towards Indrakeeladri or Krishna River Ghats. Local transport or auto-rickshaws are recommended, as parking is limited and some areas have steep steps. The temple is accessible by foot from the main ghat area.

Vijayawada Junction (BZA) is the nearest railway station, and Vijayawada International Airport (Gannavaram - VGA) is the closest airport. Accommodation is widely available in Vijayawada city, with limited options near the ghats.

Photography is allowed in the outer courtyard but prohibited within the inner sanctum. During crowded periods, cameras and cell phones may need to be deposited at security.
