About

Sri Sitaramachandra Swami Temple Bhadrachalam, also known locally as Bhadrachalam Temple, Bhadradri, Bhadragiri, and Dakshina Ayodhya, is a revered pilgrimage centre located in the town center of Bhadrachalam, Telangana.

Perched on the scenic Bhadragiri Hills and close to the banks of the Godavari river, this ancient temple is renowned for its Dravidian architectural style and spiritual ambiance.

The temple is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, worshipped here in the form of Sri Sitaramachandra Swami, with shrines for Sita, Lakshmana, Abhaya Anjaneya, Dasa Anjaneya, and Yogananda Narasimha Swamy.

The temple is open for darshan from 4:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, making it convenient for devotees to plan their visit. Pilgrims can choose from free darshan, special darshan (with a fee of ₹50), and VIP darshan options.

The best time to visit is during the winter months (November to February), in the early morning or during the evening aarti, and especially during the vibrant festival season. A variety of poojas and sevas are performed daily in Sanskrit and Telugu.

Notable rituals include Antaralaya Abhishekam (6:00 AM – 7:00 AM on Sundays), Abhishekam at the Bhadra Temple (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM daily), Sakalbhishtaprada Sree Ramapuja (8:30 AM), Sahasranamarchana (8:30 AM – 9:30 AM, ₹100), and Nitya Kalyana Ubhayam (9:30 AM – 11:00 AM daily, ₹1000).

Evening sevas such as Rajata Ratha Seva (6:30 PM) and Vahana Seva (8:00 PM – 8:30 PM, ₹516) are also popular among devotees.

The temple observes a traditional dress code: men are advised to wear dhoti or formal trousers with a shirt, while women should wear saree, salwar kameez, or chudidar with dupatta.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the sanctum and main temple area, and all mobile phones and cameras must be deposited in lockers outside. Bhadrachalam is accessible by road from Hyderabad, Vijayawada, and Rajahmundry, with regular APSRTC/TSRTC buses available.

The nearest railway station is Bhadrachalam Road (BDCR), about 39 km away, and the closest airports are Rajahmundry (100 km) and Vijayawada (127 km). Ample parking is available near the temple, with lift and wheelchair facilities for accessibility.

For accommodation, the Temple Devasthanam manages several Sadanams (A/C and non-A/C), and visitors can also find Haritha Hotel (Telangana Tourism) and various private hotels and satrams nearby. The temple is known for its Kalyana Prasadam and provides free Annadanam daily at Amma Satram.

Nearby attractions include Parnasala (32 km), the Godavari River, Ushnagundam (Hot Pool), Abhayanjaneya Swamy Temple (2 km), Dummugudem (5 km), and Papikondalu. For more information, darshan booking, and updates, devotees can visit the official website at https://bhadradritemple.telangana.gov.in.
