Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Temple

This ancient village temple is deeply revered for its devotion to Goddess Shakti, locally worshipped as Sammakka, along with Saralamma (Sarakka), Pagididda Raju, and Govinda Raju.

The temple is a living heritage site, maintained by the Koya tribal community and a local panchayat trust, reflecting its unique cultural significance. The temple is most famous for hosting the Sammakka Saralamma Jatara, a biennial festival held in February during the Magha month.

Spanning four days, this grand event draws millions of devotees from across India, making it one of the largest tribal gatherings in the country. During the Jatara, devotees participate in rituals and receive jaggery (Bangaram) as the main prasadam.
