Nagnur Naganatha Swami Temple

This revered shrine is dedicated primarily to Lord Shiva, with sanctums also for Lord Vishnu and Surya, reflecting its unique trikuta (three-shrine) architectural layout.

The temple’s origins trace back to the illustrious Kakatiya Dynasty, specifically during the reign of King Rudradeva between the 11th and 13th centuries, and it is now recognized as both a state heritage site and an ASI-protected monument.

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with the best times to visit being during the winter months (November to February), early mornings between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, or during the evening aarti.

Poojas such as Abhishekam, Archana, and the Pradosha Pooja (held every fortnight) are performed in Telugu and Sanskrit, offering devotees a spiritually enriching experience.

Prasadam typically includes vibhuti, sandal paste, and panchamritam, while annadanam (free food) is organized by devotees during major festivals.

Reaching the temple is convenient: from Karimnagar, take the main road northeast towards Choppadandi, travel about 10 km to Nagunur Village, and from the Nagunur bus stop, the temple is about 1.7 km near the fort entrance. Auto-rickshaws and local buses are available.

The nearest railway stations are Karimnagar (10 km) and Peddapalli (35 km), while Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad is 184 km away. Ample open-ground parking is available, though the ancient stone pathways may not be fully wheelchair-friendly.
