About

Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Kotapally is a revered hill temple situated in the village of Kotapally, Mancherial district, Telangana.

Also known locally as Narasimha Swamy Gutta and Laxmi Narasimha Swamy Alayam, this temple stands as a significant pilgrimage centre dedicated to Lord Vishnu in his Narasimha avatar.

The serene hilltop location, coupled with its Dravidian architectural style, attracts devotees and visitors seeking spiritual solace and scenic beauty. The temple houses the main deity, Lord Vishnu, and also enshrines Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Hanuman, and Garuda.

Daily worship rituals are conducted in Telugu and Sanskrit, with poojas such as Suprabhatam, Abhishekam, Archana, Darshanam, Nivedana, and Aarati forming an integral part of the temple’s spiritual schedule.

The temple operates from 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, allowing ample time for devotees to participate in darshan and poojas. Entry for darshan is free, making it accessible for all pilgrims.

Visitors are encouraged to adhere to the temple’s dress code, which recommends traditional and modest attire. Men are advised to wear dhoti/kurta or casual trousers and shirts, while women are encouraged to opt for sarees, churidars, or half-salwars.

Shorts, sleeveless tops, and revealing or western outfits are discouraged to maintain the sanctity of the premises.

The best time to visit Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple Kotapally is during winter (November to February), early mornings between 5:00 and 8:00 AM, during evening aarti, or in the festival season.

Major festivals celebrated here include Narasimha Jayanti (April-May), Vaikunta Ekadasi, Maha Shivaratri, and Karthika Masam, when the temple comes alive with special rituals and annadanam (community meals).

Reaching the temple is convenient from Hyderabad via NH 44 and Rajiv Rahadari (SH 1), passing through Siddipet and Karimnagar or via Ramagundam to Mancherial. From Mancherial, local TSRTC buses, auto-rickshaws, or cabs can take you to Kotapally in about 30–45 minutes.

The nearest railway stations are Mancherial (12 km) and Bellampalli (22 km), while Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad is about 270 km away. Accommodation is best found in Mancherial town, with options like HYLIFE Luxury Hotels and FabHotel New Vajra Residency.

Parking is available in an open ground, though accessibility features are limited. Photography is permitted in the outer premises but prohibited inside the main sanctum.

Devotees can partake in prasadam such as puliyodarai, sweet pongal, laddu, and vada after daily poojas, with special annadanam offered during festivals and holy Saturdays.

Nearby attractions include Gudem Gutta Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Temple, Gandhari Khilla, Sreepada Yellampalli Project, and Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary, making Kotapally a well-rounded spiritual and cultural destination.
