Shrinathji Temple Nathdwara

Revered as a living heritage temple, it is also known by local names such as Shrinathji ki Haveli, Sihad Temple, Sinhar Temple, and Bava’s Nagri. The temple is situated on the banks of a river, adding to its tranquil and spiritual ambiance.

Built by Maharana Raj Singh I of Mewar, the temple’s historical period is considered unknown or disputed, but its significance as an ancient and royal temple is well established.

The main deity worshipped here is Lord Krishna, with other revered forms including Navneetpriyaji, Madana-Mohanji, and Shri Vitthalnathji. The temple follows traditional pooja rituals in Hindi, with eight daily darshan sessions.

The timings for darshan are from 5:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the morning and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM in the evening, though these may vary seasonally.

Special poojas such as Mangala, Shringar, Gwal, Rajbhog, Uthapan, Bhog, Sandhya Aarti, and Shayan are performed at designated times throughout the day, offering devotees multiple opportunities for spiritual engagement.

Devotees can choose between free darshan and special darshan, the latter available for a fee of INR 350.

The temple observes a strict dress code: men are required to wear traditional or formal Indian attire such as dhoti-kurta, pyjamas, or full-length trousers with a shirt, while women should wear sarees, salwar kameez, or other modest ethnic wear.

Shorts, sleeveless shirts, and revealing outfits are not permitted inside the temple premises. Festivals are celebrated with great fervor at Shrinathji Temple Nathdwara.

Major events include Holi (Vasantotsav) from January to March, Krishna Janmashtami & Nand Mahotsav in August–September, Sharad Purnima (Maha Raas) in September–October, Annakut (Govardhan Puja), and Diwali during October–November.

Large-scale food distribution and Mahaprasadam, including sweets like Sev Laddu, Bundi Laddu, Mohanthaal, Thor, Khaja, Saagar, and Mesur, are highlights during these occasions.

Reaching the temple is convenient, with Maharana Pratap Airport (Udaipur) about 50 km away and Nathdwara Railway Station just 13 km from the temple. Visitors can also arrive via Mavli Junction or Udaipur City Railway Station and proceed by road.

Designated parking is available 500–600 meters from the temple, with pedestrian-only access in the inner lanes. Multiple hotels and guesthouses, such as Shri Vallabh Vilas Lords Plaza and Radisson Hotel Nathdwara, are within walking distance, making accommodation easy for pilgrims.
