Eklingji Temple

The temple is renowned for its Nagara (North Indian) architectural style and stands as a royal temple with deep historical roots, having been built by Bappa Rawal of the Mewar dynasty and later restored by Maharana Hamir Singh, Maharana Mokal, and Rana Raimal.

The best time to visit Eklingji Temple is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), evening aarti, winter months (November to February), or during the festival season.

Major festivals celebrated here include Maha Shivaratri (February-March), Eklingji Patotsav (annual), Navratri (Chaitra & Ashwin), Pradosham (monthly), and Makar Sankranti (January).

Visitors are required to follow a strict dress code: men should wear traditional or modest attire such as full-length trousers, dhotis, or kurtas, while women should opt for sarees or salwar suits. Short clothes and sleeveless tops are not permitted.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the temple premises, and mobile phones, cameras, and recording devices must not be taken into the main temple area. Reaching Eklingji Temple is convenient from Udaipur city.

Pilgrims can travel north via NH 8 or the Udaipur-Nathdwara Highway, passing through Bhuwana and Sukher, and then follow signages to Kailashpuri.

The temple is about 21–22 km from Udaipur’s main railway stations—Udaipur City Railway Station and Rana Pratap Nagar Railway Station—and 23 km from Maharana Pratap Airport.
