Mukam Jambheshwar Temple (Bishnoi Dham)

This temple, also referred to locally as Mukti Dham Mukam, Bishnoi Mandir, Nirvan Sthal, and Bishnoi Dham, is dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, with Guru Jambheshwar (Jambhoji) and symbolic representations such as the Trishul and sacred Khejri trees also holding spiritual significance within the temple complex.

Built in the traditional Rajasthani architectural style by the early followers and community elders of Guru Jambheshwar after his Samadhi in 1536 CE, the temple is recognized as a living heritage site and remains a focal point for the Bishnoi community and devotees from across India.

The temple is open daily from 4:00 AM to 8:00 PM, allowing ample time for darshan and participation in various poojas. Visitors can attend Mangla Aarti at 5:30 AM, Abhishek/Puja at 8:00 AM, Bhog Aarti at 12:00 PM, Sandhya Aarti at 7:00 PM, and Shayan Aarti at 9:00 PM.

Nitya Havan & Agnihotra are performed in the morning, and on Amavasya (new moon night), special Jaagran and Havan ceremonies take place. All poojas are conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi. Entry for darshan is free for all devotees.

The best time to visit Mukam Jambheshwar Temple is during the winter months from November to February, especially in the morning (8 AM–12 PM), during evening aarti, or the vibrant festival seasons.

Major festivals celebrated here include the Phalgun Amavasya Fair (Maha Mela) in February–March, Asoj Amavasya Fair in September–October, and Guru Jambheshwar Janmotsav (Janamashtmi) in August–September.

Devotees are expected to follow a traditional dress code: men should wear full-length trousers or kurta-pajama, while women are encouraged to wear saree, salwar kameez, or modest suits with dupatta. Revealing or modern attire is discouraged.

Reaching the temple is convenient via Bikaner or Nokha by train or road. From Bikaner, travel to Nokha (about 61–64 km) by train, taxi, or bus, then proceed northeast on the Nokha-Sujangarh road for 15–17 km to Mukam.

The temple is located about 1 km from the main road, accessible by local jeeps or auto-rickshaws. The nearest railway stations are Nokha (15 km) and Bikaner Junction (80 km), while the closest airports are Jodhpur (230 km) and Jaipur International Airport (300 km).

On-site temple dharamshalas offer basic accommodation, with budget hotels and lodges available in Nokha and a wider range of hotels in Bikaner city.

Free vegetarian meals (Langar/Bhandara) are served to all visitors, especially during festivals and Amavasya, and prasadam includes sugar candy, dry coconut, or sanctified Pahal. The temple provides dedicated free parking, wheelchair-friendly ramps, and accessible restrooms.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum and prayer halls; discreet photography in outer courtyards may be tolerated.
