About

Ranchhodrai Temple Khambhalia, also known locally as Ranchhodrai Mandir, Ranchhodji Temple, Dakor Mandir, and Dakor Dwarka, is a revered pilgrimage centre and ancient temple located in the Central Town, Navapara, and Porbandar Road area of Khambhalia in the Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat.

Dedicated primarily to Lord Krishna, this living heritage temple also houses a shrine for Dankanath Mahadev (Lord Shiva), making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan and blessings.

The temple welcomes visitors daily with darshan timings from 6:45 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Special poojas and aartis are conducted in Sanskrit and Gujarati, including the Mangla Aarti at 6:45 AM, Rajbhog Aarti at 12:15 PM, and Sandhya/Shayan Aarti from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.

Entry for darshan is free, allowing pilgrims to participate in the rituals and soak in the devotional atmosphere.

The best time to visit Ranchhodrai Temple Khambhalia is during the winter months (November to February), early mornings between 5 and 8 AM, during evening aarti, or in the vibrant festival season.

The temple observes several important festivals such as Krishna Janmashtami in August/Bhadrapad, Sharad Purnima in October/Ashwin, Holi in March/Falgun, Annakoot and Gujarati New Year in October/November (Kartik), and Tulsi Vivah in November/Kartik.

During these times, the temple comes alive with devotional fervor, and mass annadanam is offered. On regular days, devotees receive traditional prasad such as sweets, dry fruits, or besan laddu.

A traditional and modest dress code is enforced: men are expected to wear trousers, pants, or dhotis, while shorts and sleeveless attire are discouraged; women should opt for sarees, Punjabi suits, or salwar kameez, as western or revealing outfits are strictly restricted inside the temple.

Reaching Ranchhodrai Temple Khambhalia is convenient. From Ahmedabad (350 km), one can take NH 47 and NH 927D via Rajkot and Jamnagar. The nearest railway station is Khambhalia, just 2.1 km away, with Jamnagar (51 km) and Dwarka (70 km) as alternatives.

Jamnagar Airport (47 km), Porbandar Airport (62 km), and Rajkot International Airport (143 km) are the closest airports. Local auto-rickshaws and cycle rickshaws are available from the railway station and central market area.

For accommodation, options range from Hotel Keshwara's Residency in Khambhalia to upscale hotels like Lords Inn Jamnagar and Hotel Express Residency on the Jamnagar-Khambhalia highway. Parking is available in designated open-air street or municipal areas near the temple.

Photography and mobile phone use are strictly prohibited inside the main temple complex and near the inner sanctum.

Nearby attractions include Ghee Dam & Reservoir (3 km), Shree Halar Tirth Aradhana Dham Jain Temple (15 km), Narara Marine National Park (45 km), Jagat Mandir in Dwarka (50 km), and Nageshwar Temple (60 km), making Khambhalia an ideal base for exploring the spiritual and natural heritage of the region.
