ISKCON Temple Surat

Built by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), this temple features a mixed and renovated architectural style, blending modern elements with traditional motifs.

The temple is a spiritual haven for devotees of Lord Krishna, Srimati Radharani, Sri Jagannath, Baladeva, Subhadra, Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai, and Srinathji, all of whom are worshipped here.

Visitors can enjoy free darshan, with temple timings from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM, extending till 9:00 PM on Sundays and festival days.

The best time to visit is during the evening aarti, in the winter months from November to February, on weekdays for a quieter experience, or during the festival season for vibrant celebrations.

The temple conducts a variety of poojas and aartis, including Mangala Aarti, Shringar Aarti, Sandhya/Gaura Aarti (around 6:15 PM), Shayana Aarti, Archana, and Abhisheka (deity bathing).

Rituals are performed in Sanskrit, Gujarati, Hindi, Bengali, and English, making the spiritual experience accessible to a diverse group of pilgrims.

Major festivals celebrated at ISKCON Temple Surat include Sri Krishna Janmashtami in August, Ratha Yatra during June–July, Jhulan Yatra in July–August, Radhashtami in September, Kartik (Damodara) Month and Deepotsav in October–November, Holi (Gaura Purnima) in March, and Diwali/Govardhan Puja in October–November.

After major aartis and festivals, devotees are offered free satvik prasadam, and the special Sunday Love Feast features mass prasadam distribution. An on-site Govinda’s food counter serves additional sattvic meals.

The temple enforces a modest dress code: men are encouraged to wear kurtas, dhotis, or full-length trousers with shirts, while women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or long skirts with covered shoulders. Shorts, sleeveless, and revealing attire are discouraged or prohibited.
