Ambika Niketan Temple

Dedicated primarily to Goddess Shakti (Amman), the temple also houses sanctums for Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lakshmana, Lord Hanuman, Lord Shiva, and Lord Laxminarayan, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees seeking darshan of multiple deities.

The temple is open daily from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM and again from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, accommodating the schedules of both early morning and evening visitors.

The best time to visit Ambika Niketan Temple is during the early morning hours (5–8 AM), late mornings (8 AM–12 PM), or during the evening aarti, which is a spiritually uplifting experience.

The temple is especially vibrant during the winter months (November to February) and the festival season, when special celebrations and rituals are conducted.

Daily poojas include the Morning Aarti from 7:00 AM to 7:30 AM and the Evening Aarti from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, both performed in Sanskrit and Gujarati. Devotees can also participate in the Vehicle Pooja. Entry for darshan is free for all visitors.

After aarti and darshan, traditional dry or sweet prasad is distributed, and on major occasions, community mass-feeding (Bhandara) is organized.

The temple observes strict dress codes: men are required to wear modest traditional or formal attire, with shorts and half-pants not permitted, while women should wear sarees, salwar kameez, or long skirts/maxi dresses, avoiding short skirts and sleeveless tops.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum, but permitted in the outer premises and courtyard. Ambika Niketan Temple is easily accessible from Surat city.
