About

Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, also known locally as Nagnath Temple, Nageshwar Mahadev Temple, and Daarukavana, is a revered pilgrimage centre dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Situated in Nageshwar village near Dwarka in the Devbhoomi Dwarka district of Gujarat, this ancient temple holds immense spiritual significance for devotees seeking darshan and blessings at one of the Jyotirlingas. The temple is easily accessible from Dwarka city, located about 16–18 km away.

Pilgrims can arrive at Dwarka via train (Dwarka Railway Station, 17 km from the temple) or fly into Jamnagar Airport (127 km away), then travel by taxi or bus to Dwarka city.

From there, taking Nageshwar Road toward Bet Dwarka/Okha, visitors can hire a local auto, taxi, or board a shuttle bus toward Nageshwar/Gopi Talav to reach the temple complex in about 25–40 minutes. Okha Railway Station is another nearby railhead, just 13 km from the temple.

For those traveling by air, Porbandar Airport (107 km) and Rajkot International Airport (177 km) are additional options. Nageshwar Jyotirlinga Temple welcomes devotees for darshan every day, with timings from 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

The best time to visit is early morning (5–8 AM), during the winter months from November to February, or in the vibrant festival season.

The temple observes a modest dress code: men should wear modest clothing for general darshan and a traditional dhoti (shirtless) for Garbha Griha rituals, while women are required to wear saree or salwar kameez for Garbha Griha entry.

Darshan entry options include free darshan, as well as special darshan passes priced at ₹300 and ₹1000.

Various poojas are available, such as the Basic Pooja Thali/Entry assistance (₹150), Standard Abhishek (Jalabhishek/Dudhabhishek, 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM, ₹300), Standard Abhishek with ritual items and Pandit support (₹551), and Sankalp/Special Rudrabhishek (₹1101).

Poojas are conducted in Sanskrit, Hindi, and Gujarati. Major festivals celebrated at the temple include Maha Shivaratri (February–March), Shravan Maas (July–August), Kartik Purnima (November–December), and Navratri (September–October).

During these times, annadanam and community feasts are organized, and standard prasad such as vibhuti, kumkum, and sweets is distributed. The temple complex features a large free parking lot with wheelchair-accessible facilities.

Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main temple and sanctum, but permitted in the outer courtyard and with the outdoor Shiva statue. For accommodation, most visitors choose to stay in Dwarka town, which offers a range of hotels from budget to 5-star.

There are also a few hotels near the temple, including The Sky Comfort Hotel Mahi (opposite the temple) and Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Dwarka (14 km away).

Nearby attractions include Gopi Talav, Shri Dwarkadhish Temple, Rukmini Devi Temple, Beyt Dwarka & Sudarshan Setu, Shivrajpur Beach, and Gomti Ghat with Sudama Setu. For more information, visit the official website or contact the temple at +91-2892-234080.
