About

Pandupol Hanuman Temple, also known locally as Pandupole Hanuman Mandir or simply Pandupole, is a revered pilgrimage centre nestled within the scenic Sariska Tiger Reserve near Kraska and Rundh Baleta in the Aravalli Hills, Alwar district, Rajasthan.

This ancient hill temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and attracts devotees and nature lovers alike, offering a unique blend of spiritual ambiance and natural beauty.

The temple is renowned for its tranquil setting amidst the forested landscape of Sariska, making it a sought-after destination for those seeking darshan of Lord Hanuman.

The temple’s architecture style is distinct, and while its exact historical period remains unknown or disputed, it is attributed by local lore to the Pandavas of the Mahabharata era, with contemporary revival credited to Sant Nirbhaya Dassji Maharaj.

Managed as a living heritage temple by a panchayat or local trust, Pandupol Hanuman Temple continues to be a vibrant centre of faith and tradition. Devotees can participate in poojas such as Morning Aarti, Evening Aarti, and Archana, conducted in Hindi and Sanskrit.

Free darshan is available to all visitors.

The temple is especially vibrant during major festivals like Hanuman Jayanti (March–April), Lakkhi Fair or Bhado Mela (August–September), Navratras (March–April, September–October), and Ram Navami (March–April), drawing large crowds and creating a festive atmosphere.

Temple timings are from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with vehicle entry permitted between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. On other days, access is restricted and visitors are advised to check with forest authorities.

The best time to visit is during winter (November to February), monsoon (June to September), early mornings (5–8 AM), weekdays for a less crowded experience, or during the festival season.

To reach the temple, visitors can arrive at Alwar city or the Sariska Tiger Reserve entry gates (Sariska Gate or Tehla Gate). On Tuesdays and Saturdays, private vehicles are allowed up to the temple after paying the entry fee.

On other days, authorized forest safari jeeps or local transport are available. The temple is accessible via a 17–20 km unpaved forest trail from the park gates.

For accommodation, hotels and resorts are available in Alwar city and near Sariska Gate, including The Fern Alwar, Pride Premier Alwar, Lemon Tree Hotel Alwar, and Spree Resort Sariska. Basic, unpaved parking is available near the temple, though it can be congested on busy days.

The terrain is rugged and not wheelchair-accessible. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited inside the main sanctum, but casual photography is allowed in the surrounding scenic areas.

Traditional sweets like boondi, laddoo, and gud-chana are offered as prasadam, with free meal services (langar) and drinking water especially on Tuesdays and festival days.

Nearby attractions include the Sariska Tiger Reserve Safari Zone, Kankwari Fort, Siliserh Lake Palace, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Alwar City Palace Vinay Villas Palace, and Bhangarh Fort, making Pandupol Hanuman Temple an ideal stop for both spiritual seekers and travelers exploring Rajasthan.
