Naldeshwar Mahadev Temple

Nestled amidst the scenic hills near Rundh Kushalgarh and Madhopur village, this ancient pilgrimage centre is renowned for its tranquil setting and spiritual ambiance. The temple’s unique cave architecture and hilltop location make it a sought-after destination for devotees and trekkers alike.

The temple is open daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering free darshan to all visitors. General worship rituals include offering water, milk, bel leaves, and vermilion to the sacred Shivling, with poojas conducted in Sanskrit and Hindi.

The serene atmosphere is especially vibrant during major festivals such as Maha Shivratri (February–March) and Shravan Maas (July–August), when devotees gather in large numbers to seek blessings. Reaching Naldeshwar Mahadev Temple involves a journey through the natural beauty of the Aravalli hills.

Pilgrims can travel to Alwar city, from where the temple is approximately 24 km south along the Alwar-Sariska or Alwar-Jaipur Highway (NH 248A). After passing Natni ka Baran and reaching Madhopur village at the base of the hills, visitors must park their vehicles at the highway checkpoint area.

The temple is accessible only by trekking 3–5 km through forest trails and climbing about 200 rock-carved steps, making it essential to wear comfortable clothing suitable for trekking.

Men are advised to wear traditional or modest casual attire, while women should opt for sarees, salwar kameez, or other conservative outfits, avoiding tight Western clothes due to the terrain and local customs.

There is no accommodation available at the shrine itself, but a range of stay options can be found in Alwar city or along the Sariska highway.
