About

Narasimha Swami Temple Pavurallakonda is a revered hill temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated atop Pavurallakonda Hill in Gollaveedhi, Bheemunipatnam, in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

Also known locally as Narasimhaswamy Konda and Pavurallabodu, this ancient pilgrimage centre is recognized as an ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) protected monument, drawing devotees and history enthusiasts alike.

The temple welcomes visitors daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering tranquil darshan experiences amid scenic hilltop surroundings. For devotees seeking a spiritual start to their day, the early morning hours between 5:00 and 8:00 AM are considered ideal, as is attending the evening aarti.

The winter months from November to February are especially pleasant for a visit. Darshan at Narasimha Swami Temple Pavurallakonda is accessible through free entry, while special darshan options are available for INR 100 and INR 300.

The temple conducts a variety of poojas, including Archana (Abhishekam/Sahasranamarchana), Nitya Kalyanam, and the Sahasra Deepalankarana Seva, which takes place in the evenings from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Rituals are performed in both Sanskrit and Telugu, ensuring a spiritually immersive experience for devotees.

The temple observes significant festivals such as Narasimha Jayanti (April-May), Makar Sankranti (January), and Vaikunta Ekadashi (December-January), when the premises come alive with special prayers and Annadanam (free meals) for pilgrims.

Regular prasadam offerings include Panakam, Pulihora, and laddus. Reaching the temple is convenient from various directions. From Vizianagaram, one can take the Vizianagaram-Visakhapatnam Road to Thagarapuvalasa junction and then head towards Bheemunipatnam.

Those traveling from Visakhapatnam can drive north along Beach Road past Rushikonda. At the base, near Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya in Gollaveedhi, pilgrims can access a motorable path or climb steps to reach the summit.

Ample free parking is available at the base, though wheelchair accessibility is limited on the hilltop. Nearby railway stations include Vizianagaram Junction (30 km), Visakhapatnam Railway Station (29 km), and Anandapuram/Thagarapuvalasa (12 km).

The closest airports are Visakhapatnam International Airport (45 km) and Bhogapuram International Airport (40 km). Accommodation options range from Haritha Beach Resort in Bheemili to Novotel Visakhapatnam Varun Beach and hotels in Vizianagaram.

Photography is strictly prohibited inside the main temple premises, and visitors must deposit electronic devices, bags, and leather items at designated cloakrooms.

The temple enforces a traditional dress code: men are required to wear dhoti or kurta and trousers, while women should wear saree, half-saree, or churidar with dupatta.
