Narasimha Jharni Cave Temple

This ancient cave temple, dedicated primarily to Lord Vishnu, also houses a shrine for Lord Shiva. Its rock-cut architecture and setting within a natural cave make it a remarkable destination for devotees and travelers seeking a spiritual experience in Karnataka.

The temple stands out as a cave temple where devotees must wade through a 300-meter-long water-filled tunnel, with water levels reaching 4–5 feet, to reach the sanctum for darshan. Entry to the temple is ticketed, with free darshan available for ₹10 and a special darshan option at ₹100.

The temple is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, while on weekends and Mondays, timings extend from 8:00 AM to 5:00 or 6:00 PM.

The best time to visit is early morning between 5 and 8 AM, during winter months from November to February, or during major festival seasons. Daily morning pooja and arati are performed at 8:00 AM, with special abhishekam and archana also conducted.

Parking is available near the entrance for a nominal fee, but the temple is not wheelchair accessible due to the cave’s natural water tunnel. Photography inside the cave is restricted, though casual photography is allowed outside unless otherwise indicated.
