About

Manyamkonda Venkateswara Swamy Temple, also known locally as Manyamkonda Sri Lakshmi Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, Munulakonda, Tirupati of Telangana, Palamoor Tirupati, and Poor People's Tirupati, is a revered pilgrimage centre situated on the Manyamkonda hill area near Oblaipalle and Kotakadira in Devarakadra, Mahabubnagar district, Telangana.

This ancient hill temple is dedicated to Lord Venkateswara and is renowned for its unique rock-cut architecture and sacred cave sanctum, making it a significant spiritual destination for devotees across the region.

The temple is open to pilgrims from 5:00 AM to 8:30 PM, with timings sometimes extending to 9:00 PM on peak days.

The best time to visit is during the early morning hours between 5 and 8 AM, in the winter months from November to February, or during the vibrant festival season, especially the annual brahmotsavam.

Major festivals celebrated here include Magha Purnima Jathara in January-February, Vaikunta Ekadashi, and the Brahmotsavams during December-January, drawing large crowds of devotees.

Darshan at Manyamkonda Venkateswara Swamy Temple is accessible through free entry, ensuring that all devotees can have the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.

Daily poojas include Nitya Darshanam & Archana, available for a nominal fee of ₹10, and Abhishekam and Special Pujas, typically performed in the morning or on auspicious days like Saturdays, for ₹100.

Rituals are conducted in Telugu and Sanskrit, maintaining the temple's traditional spiritual ambiance.

Devotees are required to follow a strict dress code: men should wear traditional and modest attire such as dhoti, panche, kurta-pajama, or formal trousers with a neat shirt, while women are expected to wear sarees, churidar, or salwar kameez that fully covers the body.

Western or revealing outfits are strictly discouraged, especially inside the sacred cave sanctum. Reaching the temple is convenient: arrive at Mahabubnagar town by train or road, then travel southwest on NH 167 (Raichur Road) for about 22 km.

From there, follow the Manyamkonda hill road access point to the temple complex, ascending the hill by local auto, cab, or private vehicle. The nearest railway stations are Mahabubnagar (22 km) and Jadcherla (38 km), while Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad is 105 km away.

Pilgrims can find standard lodging in Mahabubnagar town, and the temple also provides Devasthanam dormitories and basic rooms near the hill. Adequate open-air parking is available at the foothills, though it may become congested during festivals.

The temple organizes free food (Annadanam) during peak festival days, and traditional prasadam such as laddu or boondi is distributed to devotees. Photography and mobile usage are strictly prohibited inside the main cave sanctum, though casual photography is generally allowed in the outer premises.

Nearby attractions include the ancient Pillalamarri Banyan Tree (24 km), Koilkonda Fort (65 km), Gadwal Fort (95 km), and Alampur Jogulamba Shakti Peetha (115 km), making Manyamkonda Venkateswara Swamy Temple an essential stop for pilgrims and travelers exploring the spiritual and historical heritage of Telangana.
