The temple is a living heritage site, managed by a local panchayat trust, and was built in 1820 CE by Seth Sundarji and Jetha Shivji of the Brahma-Kshatri caste.

The main sanctum houses Lord Shiva, while the temple complex also features shrines for Lord Ganesha, Goddess Parvati, Hanuman, and Bhairava, who is regarded as the guardian spirit of Hinglaj Mata.
