Ashapura Mata Temple Mata no Madh

The temple is an ancient site, recognized as a Shakti Peetha and a living heritage temple managed by a panchayat or local trust. It also houses the deity Chachara Bhawani. The temple’s architectural style is unique and distinct from mainstream temple designs, reflecting the region’s heritage.

Pilgrims and devotees can visit the Ashapura Mata Temple for darshan during its open hours: 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to 8:30 or 9:00 PM. Free darshan is available to all visitors, ensuring accessibility for everyone.

The best time to visit is early morning between 5–8 AM, during the evening aarti, in the winter months from November to February, or during major festival seasons. The temple is especially vibrant during Sharad (Ashwin) Navratri in September-October and Chaitra Navratri in March-April.

Daily poojas at the temple include Mangla Aarti at 5:00 AM, Dhoop Aarti at 9:00 AM, and Sandhya Aarti at sunset. Special rituals such as Chandi Path, Chandi Yagya, and Navchandi Path are also performed, with services available in Sanskrit and Gujarati.

The temple maintains a traditional dress code: men are required to wear full-length trousers or jeans with shirts or t-shirts, avoiding shorts and sleeveless vests, while women should wear sarees, salwar kameez, or modest kurtis, avoiding skirts above the knee and sleeveless tops.

Reaching Mata no Madh is convenient from Bhuj, which is accessible by train or air.

From Bhuj, pilgrims can travel northwest via the Bhuj-Lakhpat Highway, taking a GSRTC bus or private coach from Bhuj Bus Stand (about 100-101 km, 2-2.5 hours), or hire a taxi or self-drive (about 1.5-2 hours, 95-100 km).
