Kanthkot Kanthadnath Temple

This ancient hill temple stands atop the western edge of the fort, offering visitors a unique blend of spiritual ambiance and historical grandeur. The temple is recognized as a state heritage site and is also listed as an ASI monument, reflecting its significance in the region’s cultural landscape.

The temple is associated with a diverse pantheon, including Lord Mahavir, Surya (the Sun God), and Shaivite ascetics (Atits), making it a focal point for devotees from different traditions.

Daily aarti and prayers are conducted in Gujarati, and visitors can participate in free darshan throughout the temple’s open hours, which are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM during daylight.

Reaching Kanthkot Kanthadnath Temple involves traveling to Bhachau town on NH-27 from Ahmedabad or Rajkot, then driving northeast about 18 km to Kanthkot village. From there, an uphill road leads to the fort and temple. Private taxis or personal vehicles from Bhachau or Bhuj are recommended.

The nearest railway stations are Bhachau (20 km), Samakhiali Junction (30 km), and Gandhidham BG (50 km), while Kandla Airport (55 km) and Bhuj Airport (95 km) are the closest air links.

There is open, unpaved parking near the fort base, but the terrain can be challenging for those with mobility issues.
